UNHCR Goodwill Ambassadors
UNHCR started to work with Goodwill Ambassadors in the early 1980s, when Richard Burton and James Mason were first appointed to make media statements and public appearances for the refugee cause. Today, five UNHCR Goodwill Ambassadors with very different professional and personal backgrounds use their talents and time to advocate for refugees: Barbara Hendricks (named in 1987), Adel Imam (2000), Angelina Jolie (2001), Giorgio Armani (2002) and Julien Clerc (2003).

Goodwill Ambassadors communicate the message of respect and compassion for refugees to the general public in a uniquely powerful way; they capture massive public attention through public events, television shows, radio interviews and popular magazine articles. They effectively use their privileged access to mass media and other resources to give a voice to refugees, who are often victims of forgotten humanitarian crises and who often suffer from uninformed negative stereotyping. Goodwill Ambassadors also voice their support for refugees in meetings with world leaders, diplomats, teachers, national and community officials, as well as the public at large.

wellz there you have it, our world's 5 Goodwill Ambassadors, my dream job to work with UNHCR =), despite knowing that it does not pay well or help much to boost a career, its the satisfaction of helping others that burns within me. living compassionately and making the world a better place is what most of us dream about, but seldom rarely put forth that idea and make it happen. but i guess this news coverage on UNHCR is something new to most readers, hahaha, anyone would have thought Giorgio Armani to be an Ambassador? i doubt most of you would know that.

=) i'll be back with more news soon. if not just check out the website for UNHCR, and lets play our part in making this world a better place, with smiles and not frowns. =)

"sometimes actions are misintepreted and many people think otherwise, when will people understand to be discerning and clear in thoughts?"

i'm so ready to take on the world all alone after 2 fiasco. both have moulded me in a manner even i myself is in a rude shock to understand. all i can say for better or for worse, its my life and i'm taking all the chances i have left. clearly its an impact that i'm taking it with me for life.
